How to install DSCovered on R4DS original.
First we start with a freshly
formatted MicroSD card.

I’m using a 2gb card here.
Head over to http://filetrip.net/

In the NDS section you want ‘Flashcart Related Files’

and head to the DSTT section
Download the DSTT firmware. Here I am using 1.17a02 (fake killer
disabled)
but I thing any version should work.

Once downloaded, extract the TTMENU.DAT file and TTMenu folder
to the root
of your MicroSD card.

and head to the R4DS section

Download the R4DS firmware. Here I am using the official 1.18 version, but others may work just as well.

Once downloaded, extract the _DS_MENU.DAT file
to the root of your MicroSD
card.

Next go to http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/

download the R4DS dldi file…

and put it in the folder with the other files.

Once you have those files, it’s time to download ysmenu.
Next head to http://home.usay.jp/pc/etc/nds/

search for DS(T_T)DS and download YSMenu (YSMenu0903211700.zip)

Now extract the files ttextract.exe, YSMenu.ini and YSMenu.nds
to the your
folder.

Now run ttextract.exe, you should see something like this -

You should now have some new files in your folder. The ones we want
are:
YSmenu.nds
ysmenu.ini
r4patch.dat
r4dldi.dat
ttmenu –
folder
So copy those to your MicroSD card…

At this point, you might wish to download the latest savlib.dat, extinfo.dat
and infolib.dat files. These files will help ysmenu to load games
properly.
the latest version I could find are at –
http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=10109
but there might be later ones by this
time, I’m sure google would be able to find them for you.
Once downloaded,
just copy those files to your ttmenu folder.
And of course, copy the d_system folder and _DS_Menu.dat from the
DSCovered
download, which you should have got from http://spinalcode.co.uk/

then last of all, copy whatever games ad homebrew you wish to use.
Now, run DScovery.exe and select your MicroSD from the list, check any
files
that you want to appear in the DScovered menu and hit the update
button.

Now put ypur R4 into your DS and power up!
Before trying to load anything,
you should go to the settings screen and make sure that loader_ysmenu.nds is
selected as the loader.
If at any point you wish to load ysmenu.nds, you
should set the option to load homebrew externally.
The soft-reset option is
currently experimental. I have heard that it doesn’t even work on the R4 and it
may damage some of the files on your card. use at your own
risk.
